CC-130 pact goes to Herc Solutions

Canada has selected the Herc Solutions team to provide ongoing support services for its aging 31-strong Lockheed CC-130 Hercules fleet. Herc Solutions is a team of four major global C-130 support players, with Cascade Aerospace of Abbotsford, Canada, as prime contractor. The other team members are Derco Aerospace, Marshall Aerospace and Standard Aero. Under the terms of the contract, Herc Solutions will provide program management and support in the fields of engineering maintenance, materiel, technical publications and information systems.

Derco is owned by helicopter manufacturer   Sikorsky. It is the world’s leading supplier of Hercules spares, and under the terms of the contract is responsible for meeting the supply chain challenges for the Canadian fleet. It works with a range of OEMs to provide a large inventory of spares and support equipment. The size of Derco’s operation gives it considerable purchasing power, in turn driving down costs for its customers.

During the 2005 Hercules Operators Conference earlier this month, Derco announced new OEM alliances, one with Uniteam for its Winglift roll-on, roll-off container handling system, and another with Parker Stratoflex for a wide range of rubber and metal hoses, connections and fittings.

The company also signed a final agreement covering the distribution of the Meta-Fleet Blue Baux, a GPS-based usage monitoring system.
