GPMS Expands Access to Foresight MX HUMS
GPMS health and usage monitoring systems are certified for 14 aircraft types

VAI has partnered with GPMS International to expand access to health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS). Under the agreement, VAI members will receive discounts on Foresight MX, which GPMS is showcasing this week at Verticon.

Foresight MX, GPMS’s all-in-one HUMS, provides flight data and exceedance monitoring, rotor track and balance, and engine performance and health monitoring. It allows operators to remotely monitor mixed fleets on a single dashboard.

Using data analytics, the HUMS proactively predicts maintenance issues before they arise, helping to reduce unscheduled aircraft-on-ground time and enhance safety.

“Safety is one of our core values at VAI,” said Chris Hill, senior director of safety at VAI. “We’re dedicated to equipping our members with the best technologies and practices to elevate operational safety and performance.

“HUMS has a proven track record of mitigating risks and enhancing aircraft reliability. Partnering with GPMS makes this game-changing technology more accessible to our community.”

GPMS has FAA supplemental type certificate approvals for Foresight MX on 14 platforms. Most recently, the company obtained STCs for the Airbus Helicopters H145D/D3 last month.

On Tuesday at Verticon, GPMS announced an order from Precision Support Services for up to seven Foresight MX installations on Airbus H215/AS332 Super Pumas. To recognize Precision for its expertise with the Super Puma platform and experience with HUMs installations, GPMS has dubbed Precision a “GPMS HUMS AS332 center of excellence.”

”Although more than 80% of AS332 operators are currently operated by military, government, and offshore entities, many are now seeking to exit the model due to evolving contract requirements and mounting maintenance pressures,” said GPMS v-p of marketing Ronnie Ries.

“This divestment trend has created new opportunities for companies like PSS to repurpose these capable aircraft into specialized utility, firefighting, and disaster management platforms.”

GPMS on Monday said it has delivered the first of two Foresight MX systems purchased by Entergy for its Bell 429s. Entergy generates and distributes electricity to 3 million customers across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi.

Arrow Aviation, the newest member of the GPMS certified installer network, did the first installation for Entergy. The second installation will be performed at a Bell’s certified installation facility in Piney Flats, Tennessee.

Earlier this month, Capitol Helicopters ordered Foresight MX for its entire fleet of Bell 407s, 412s, and 429s, as well as UH-60 Black Hawks.

“Our HUMS is certified on some of the most widely used aircraft in the utility and energy sectors, including the Bell 407, Bell 429, H125, UH-60, and soon, the CH-47D,” said GPMS sales director John Byus. “We’re proud to support leading operators like the Tennessee Valley Authority, Bonneville Power Administration, Western Area Power Administration, and Pacific Gas & Electric as they conduct essential power line inspections, infrastructure maintenance, and rapid storm response.”

“HUMS isn’t just for big operators with heavy aircraft anymore,” Ries added. “Foresight MX is lightweight, affordable, and intuitive—designed to bring advanced monitoring to operators of all sizes. Our customers see real results: safer flights, predictive maintenance, and fewer AOGs.”
