A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Signature Aviation debuted its newly-renovated FBO terminal at Alabama’s Huntsville International Airport (KHSV) yesterday with a grand reopening celebration. The project took 18 months to complete.&nbsp;With a nod to Huntsville’s “Rocket City” nickname, the facility features modern design inside and out, with a centerpiece mural by a local artist honoring the area’s aerospace heritage.
Supporting its clients in one of the fastest-growing Southern U.S. cities, the company added more than 2,500 sq ft of space to the terminal—bringing it to 6,000 sq ft—and also includes a new entrance and ramp expansion. Due to the concentrated military presence in the area, the refurbished terminal features a dedicated lounge for service members.
“We are excited to unveil our facility in Huntsville, a city renowned for its legacy as a cornerstone of aerospace, defense, and technology,” said Signature CEO Tony Lefebvre. “From the thoughtfully designed spaces drawing inspiration from the city itself to the curated amenities specific to the needs of Huntsville visitors and residents, every element…has been crafted to make every second of the guest’s experience exceptional.”
KHSV was just the first in the chain’s renovated FBO unveilings on tap, with Savannah, Georgia (KSAV); Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (KRDU); and Palm Beach, Florida (KPBI) coming later this year. Signature will also open a new location at Francis S. Gabreski Airport&nbsp;(KFOK) at New York's Long Island by year-end.
