A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Oklahoma’s Enid Woodring Regional Airport (KWDG) has completed several development projects, including construction of a 14,400-sq-ft heated community hangar and eight new box hangars, as well as reconstruction of its south ramp.
Hangar 108—with a price tag of more than $1.8 million—will accommodate aircraft up to a Cessna Citation X. It will be managed by the city-owned FBO, and it brings the facility up to nearly 29,000 sq ft of business-type aircraft storage.
The second phase of the project saw the reconstruction of the airport’s 70,000-sq-ft south ramp, which is now home to the eight box hangars suitable for light single-engine GA airplanes. That part of the development cost $3,400,000.
KWDG is located just 5 miles from Vance Air Base, which is undergoing reconstruction on one of its runways. Approximately half of the airport’s operations consist of military aircraft, said Keston Cook, KWDG’s director.
“The new joint-use hangar will not only enhance our ability to support Vance Air Base, providing crucial additional space during severe weather events but [will] also allow us to provide this critical service to transient general aviation aircraft,” Cook told AIN. “Additionally, the reconstruction of our South Ramp marks a major milestone, revitalizing our general aviation hangar infrastructure after many decades and further supporting the military with the 70,000-sq-ft apron reconstruction, which allows the parking of overflow military traffic during weekend operations at the airport.”
Funding was provided by the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics through its hangar development grant program, the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation through a Defense Community Infrastructure Program grant, and the Oklahoma Finance Authorities through a public/private partnership grant.
