Charles Alcock is managing editor of the AIN Media Group, having rejoined the company in 2019. The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) is combining its Air Ops conference with the annual European Business Aviation Convention &amp; Exhibition (EBACE). The move—announced today—is the first indication the organization has given as to the future format of EBACE since it assumed full control of the trade show after <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-08-19/ebaa-goes-it-alone-ebace-show-after-nbaa-sells-stake">ending its partnership with NBAA</a> in August.
In 2025, <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-10-22/ebaas-baltus-ebace-show-will-go">EBACE</a> will once again be held at Geneva’s Palexpo center from May 20 to 22. The event will feature an “Air Ops zone” with dedicated conference sessions and educational workshops focused on ground handlers, airports, FBOs, trip planners, and aircraft operators.
EBAA has previously staged Air Ops as a separate annual event, in various European cities including Brussels, where the industry association is based. In February 2023, the <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-02-14/ebaa-airops-conference-interrupted-protest">conference was disrupted</a> by environmental protestors, as was that year’s EBACE show.
“We want to assure our industry that we are listening and making changes to reflect your feedback,” said Robert Baltus, EBAA’s chief operating officer. “Air Ops is a key event, but EBACE is where the business aviation community gathers. By merging both events in 2025, we’re creating an unparalleled experience—bringing the sector together in a way we haven’t seen before. This fresh format gives people the ability to strengthen relationships and engage in conversations that will unlock new opportunities within the business aviation ecosystem.”
According to Baltus, the change is the first in a series of new features that EBAA plans for EBACE as it continues its consultation with the business aviation industry as to its preferences for the trade show in the future. The group said that further details about exhibition packages and sponsorship opportunities will be released “in the coming weeks.”
