SAFE Structure Designs designed and delivered a custom BK117 maintenance stand for Yellowhead Helicopters in Canada. The company describes the stand as lightweight and ergonomic, noting that it “can be disassembled and stored in a shed and then easily reassembled by just one technician.”

Technicians can use the stand to access any area of a BK117 twin-engine helicopter for routine or unscheduled maintenance. Safety features include enhanced handrails and a large work platform.

“It was a unique opportunity to work with Yellowhead’s Corey Taylor to design the perfect equipment to meet their unique environment,” said SAFE CEO Johnny Buscema. “This support equipment is designed to provide personnel with safe and efficient access for all maintenance even in the snow.”
