A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Despite brief rainstorms, attendance at NBAA’s Northeastern regional forum, held on Wednesday at New York’s Westchester County Airport (KHPN), exceeded last year’s total, attracting more than 3,000 people for networking and educational sessions. The event was hosted by the Million Air FBO, one of three service provider chains at KHPN. It provided a 50,000-sq-ft hangar for the more than 175 exhibitors on the show’s sold-out exhibit floor and the FBO cleared its ramp to accommodate the 26 aircraft in the static display.
In his keynote address, NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen reiterated to&nbsp;the audience that the business aviation industry is committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. “Today, when a new aircraft model comes to market, it is 15&nbsp;to 20 percent more efficient than the airplane it is replacing,” he explained. “We’re fostering an environment that enables business aviation to thrive.” Using the book-and-claim transaction process, aircraft operators at the event were able to purchase contract fuel at the FBO and convert their purchase to sustainable aviation fuel credits through World Fuel Services.&nbsp;
This was the final large event on NBAA’s schedule until its annual convention,&nbsp;which will be held October 17 to 19 in Las Vegas. Dates for next year’s regional forums will be announced later this year.
