Universal Aviation, the ground handling division of Universal Weather and Aviation, is increasing its global network footprint with the certification of six locations in Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, and Central America.
They include Miltair Aviation at Ilopango International Airport in El Salvador, Air Tahiti at Faa’a Tahiti International Airport in Papeete, Sundt Air Executive Handling at Norway’s Oslo Gardermoen Airport, XLR Jet Centre at the UK’s Birmingham International Airport, and in the Middle East: Blue Aviation at Qatar’s Doha International Airport, and Gama Aviation at Sharjah International Airport in the UAE.
Each location has agreed to follow Universal’s stringent standards and will receive recurrent training through the Houston-based company in ground handling quality, safety, consistency, customer service, and regulatory compliance including those laws dealing with corruption and bribery. Each will receive periodic audits as they become Universal’s preferred ground handler at those locations.
“While the summer was all about travel to Europe, we’re now seeing more missions to Latin America, the Middle East, and leisure destinations in Asia-Pacific,” said Adolfo Aragon, senior v-p of Universal Aviation. “These regions will face similar ramp-up, supply chain, and staffing challenges we saw in Europe. To minimize the impact on our customers, we’re aggressively adding new Universal Aviation certified members with a strong track record at the locations where we identify a need for a higher level of service.”
