State-owned helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) provider FinnHEMS selected Rusada’s Envision software to manage its airworthiness and maintenance activities. The company dispatches emergency specialists to incidents from seven bases across Finland using a fleet of nine Airbus H135s and 145s.

Since the HEMS provider is focused more on bringing emergency personnel onsite than transporting patients, its callout rate is typically more frequent than standard air ambulance services, Rusada said, adding this places a greater need for constant aircraft availability.

“We are looking forward to relying on Envision to give us more certainty around our operations, as well as increased visibility on the readiness of our fleet,” said Tony Ellonen, continuing airworthiness manager at FinnHEMS. “A key desire was to enable our maintenance teams to effectively plan for upcoming events. With Envision, vital information will be readily available to our main base and outlying deployment stations so that our helicopters can be strategically maintained to be available at a moment’s notice.”

Working with Rusada, FinnHEMS will consolidate its systems into Envision, which will provide access to information from any of the operator’s bases. Envision will feature a dashboard focusing on key information specific to the company.
