MedAire (Booth 1357), an international SOS company, is offering a glimpse into its medical services this week to NBAA-BACE attendees, who can listen in on headphones as its medical experts provide advice on in-flight calls from commercial aviation operators. “As more people are getting back to attending in-person events, we thought it was important to again offer BACE attendees the opportunity to experience our MedLink system in action,” said MedAire CEO Bill Dolny.
MedLink medical director David Strietweiser said the service receives more than 300 calls a day from business and commercial aviation clients, concerning everything from preflight assessments of a passenger’s wellness to in-flight emergencies. The doctors are emergency room trained and are also schooled in aviation medicine and altitude physiology.
In addition, the company is demonstrating its MedAire360 portal, which was brought online in recent years to pull together the company’s services and intelligence.
“International travel has rebounded from the pandemic with new challenges, increasing the need for real-time inflight medical assistance, as well as security support at travelers’ destinations,” Dolny said, adding that the portal “is an invaluable flight management tool to assist operators.”
