Meridian Helicopters, which specializes in the brokerage, leasing, and refurbishment of Bell helicopters, saw a record year in 2021 with activity across all three segments of the Lafayette, Louisiana-based company’s business.

Last year, the company completed the sale of seven helicopters for brokerage customers, including four 206B JetRangers, two 206L3s, and a 206L4 LongRanger. Additionally, it extended three helicopter leases with existing customers and accepted a new lease.

On the refurbishment side, Meridian completed its overall 23rd tip-to-tail custom refurbishment of a Bell 206L4 earlier this year. Also, this year the company expects to do another full refurbishment on the type for one of its lease customers. Those refurbishments can include avionics capabilities with night vision goggles, mission-specific equipment, and interior packages with air conditioning and for VIPs.
