Montreal-based Bombardier has found the first homes for its flagship Global 7500 in Canada with deliveries to two customers based there. Both of the ultra-long-range business jets will be managed and offered for charter by Chartright Air Group and based at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Bombardier president and CEO Éric Martel noted that these aircraft will be based near where the Global 7500 is assembled in Toronto.
“This aircraft will open a new world of long-range travel possibilities for Canadian customers, as it has done elsewhere in the world,” added Peter Likoray, Bombardier senior v-p of sales for new aircraft. The 7,700-nm, four-zone Global 7500 can fly nonstop from Toronto to Johannesburg and Montreal to Bangkok, conditions permitting.
“With more customers turning to charter for convenience and peace of mind, we see nothing but a bright future,” said Adam Keller, president of Chartright Air Group.
Bombardier, which handed over the 50th copy of the aircraft in late March, continues to expand the market reach for its flagship Global, including the announced delivery two weeks ago to a customer in Indonesia. The company, which views the Global 7500 as a key to its future profitability, has reached its targeted production rate for the model of 35 to 40 a year and work has begun on components for S/N 100.
