Columbus's Lane Aviation Celebrates 84 Years
Beginning as a small flight school in 1935, the FBO has grown into a six-hangar operation covering 140,000 square feet and over 11 acres of ramp space.

NBAA recently recognized Lane Aviation (KCMH) in Columbus Ohio, with an “84 Years in Safe Flying Award.” Lane, which lays claim to being the second oldest family-owned FBO in the U.S., recently celebrated 84 years of business with its tenants, customers, and employees.

“It really is impressive when you look at how we have grown and expanded from a small flight school started by Ruth and Foster Lane in 1935 to a large six-hangar operation covering 140,000 square feet and over 11 acres of ramp space,” said Lane president Steve Evans. “Any type of aircraft that can land at John Glenn Columbus International, we can ground handle anytime of the day or night and in any kind of weather.”

A member of the Air Elite Network, Lane has long served as a government fuel provider at KCMH and has become a corporate partner of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) that opened in 2018 in Columbus. As a corporate partner, Lane offers complimentary passes to the museum to its customers.
