Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

GAMA is tightening its relationship with the standards-setting organization ASTM International with the appointment of Gregory Bowles, who serves as GAMA’s vice president of global innovation and policy, to a three-year term on the ASTM board of directors.&nbsp;In that capacity, Bowles will work with legislators and regulators to enable emerging aviation technologies and shape and harmonize regulations and policy. Bowles, who has held positions with Keystone Helicopter and Cessna Aircraft, joined GAMA in 2005 and has previously served as director of European affairs and engineering in Brussels, Belgium, for the association.

 


Along with Bowles taking a leadership role on ASTM, GAMA hired former ASTM official Christine DeJong to serve as director of global innovation and policy. DeJong has more than 13 years of experience with standards and business development at ASTM, steering initiatives involving general aviation, aircraft systems, and unmanned aircraft systems. She played a role in the launch of ASTM’s additive manufacturing center of excellence and the autonomy in aviation cross-sector committee.

 


“Christine’s vast experience at ASTM International will be of immense value to GAMA member companies as our scope of work expands into areas such as electric and hybrid propulsion, increased automation, and supersonic,” said GAMA president and CEO Pete Bunce.

Bowles will work iwth legeslators and regulators on emerging aviation technologies, while DeJong will strengthen GAMA's expansion into new technologies.
