C&L Aerospace has signed an agreement to be a distributor of Essex Industries’ smoke hoods for all aircraft types. According to C&L, this new offering provides its customers with a lightweight smoke-hood option that runs on compressed oxygen rather than employ chemical oxygen generators.

The FAA- and EASA-approved Essex smoke hoods have a 10.5-year shelf life, which is identified by an end-of-service indicator light included with the unit. Even though the Essex smoke hood units contain compressed oxygen cylinders, they can still be shipped overnight air freight. The hoods also come with multiple stowage options to accommodate different aircraft types.

“We continue to add value for our customers by securing distributorships that provide our operators cost-saving options for their aircraft maintenance requirements,” said C&L Aerospace senior v-p of sales Martin Cooper. In the last year, C&L has inked distributorship agreements with CSI, Garmin, Champion, and Securaplane SLA Batteries, among others.
