Duncan and Gogo Develop Challenger 605 Iridium STC
The approval is for the installation of the Gogo ST 4300 Iridium satcom system configuration for Future Air Navigation Systems.

Duncan Aviation has partnered with Gogo Business Aviation to create an STC for the installation of the latter’s ST 4300 Iridium satellite communications system configuration for FANS 1/A+ on the Bombardier Challenger 605. The STC includes aircraft S/Ns 5701 through 5990.

“This STC is designed for customers who have the Gogo Axxess II system installed in their aircraft,” noted Duncan avionics sales representative Justin Vena, adding that although that system will be replaced, customers will be able to keep Gogo Iridium service and upgrade to the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Advanced with FANS. “From the perspective of a customer who already has the Gogo Axxess II systems, adding the ST 4300 will integrate with existing air-to-ground systems for broadband internet capability. Further, customers can continue to use existing handsets for their voice communications.”

The ST 4300 combines global voice and data functionalities into a single box to reduce weight and size and can take everything Iridium can offer. When installed along with the Pro Line 21 Advanced, the new STC will help customers satisfy the 2020 FANS mandate, according to Duncan. The ST 4300 can also be used to configure cabin and flight deck connectivity based on an operator's specific needs and budget.
