SoCal Jets is trying to do its part to alleviate the repair station crunch for ADS-B Out installations, whittling the install time to three days. Its installation package is designed to cut lead time and ensure parts availability, the company said.
“We solve the long lead-time problem with an extensive review of all aircraft records and installations in advance, to ensure the system is FAA-approved and ready with minimum downtime,” said SoCal Jets president and founder Robert Roig.
Its package includes Universal Avionics WAAS/LPV-capable flight management system units that combine with transponder upgrades. The addition of a Universal UniLink UL-800/801 communications management unit further paves the way for operators to take advantage of FANS 1/A+ and Controller Pilot Data Link Communications-Departure Clearance (CPDLC-DCL).
“Universal Avionics is pleased to support SoCal Jets’ program, helping to support a quick-turn solution to meet the pending ADS-B Out mandate,” said Universal Avionics U.S. senior sales manager Robert Randall. “The solution also provides the next stop for CPDLC-DCL on the pathway to NextGen.”
Based in Van Nuys, California, SoCal Jets primarily provides support for Gulfstream, Challenger, Falcon, Hawker, Learjet, and Citation business jets.
