Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Embraer’s business jet deliveries continue to soften, down four units in the second quarter to 20, the company reported on Friday. This slide follows a <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2018-04-17/embraer-aircraft-deliveries-slump-first-quarter">first quarter</a> where Embraer’s deliveries also were four shy year-over-year, for a total of 11. And it also follows a 2017 that saw eight fewer deliveries, for a total of 109, than in 2016.

 


In the second quarter of 2018, Embraer delivered one less Phenom 100 for a total of three and no Legacy 500s, compared with three in the second quarter of 2017. Embraer’s Phenom 300 deliveries remained stable at 12, as did its Legacy 450 deliveries at four in each of the past two second quarters. The company handed over one Legacy 650 in the second quarter of both 2017 and 2018.

 


For the year, Embraer has delivered 31 business jets, with the Phenoms accounting for 23 of those deliveries and Legacy/Lineage lines the remaining eight. This is down from 39 in the first half of 2018, which encompassed 27 light jet (Phenom) deliveries and 12 Legacy/Lineage shipments.

 


A highlight for the Brazilian planemaker in the quarter was a new purchase agreement with Germany-based charter for four Legacy 605E business jets. The airframer also began delivery in the second quarter of its Phenom 300E updated model.
