Houston-based commercial aircraft ground handling and into-plane fueling provider PrimeFlight Aviation Services has made its first foray into general aviation, with the acquisition of aircraft cleaning company Sharp Details. In operation at 38 airports in 12 states, Sharp Details offers cleaning services such as wet and dry washing, paint polishing and protection, leather treatment, interior restoration, and transient support.
“As a leader in aircraft cleaning, the Sharp Details brand is a welcome extension to our existing footprint and range of services,” said PrimeFlight CEO Dan Bucaro.
Sharp will retain its name and continue to operate as a subsidiary within the Carlyle Group-backed company, with former owner Jim Garland remaining as president.
“I look forward to the support we will have a being a part of the PrimeFlight organization,” Garland stated. “We intend to grow the business, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, as well as invest in new technologies, people, and equipment that will help us better serve our existing customer base.”
