G650ER Polar Flight Breaks Records
Gulfstream continues to break speed records with its aircraft with the 650ER racking up 70.

The Gulfstream G650ER has another city-pair speed record, this time during a May 12 to 13 flight over the North Pole from White Plains, New York, to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, at an average speed of Mach 0.86. The aircraft covered the 6,870-nm route in 13 hours 40 minutes.

ā€œIt has been a busy year for the G650ER, with this impressive polar feat pushing its record total well above 70,ā€ said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream Aerospace (Booth T139, SD28).

The G650ER is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines and can fly up to 19 passengers. Gulfstream noted the city-pair record is pending approval by the National Aeronautic Association.
