Carpenter Avionics STCs Engine Display for Conquest II
The upgrade is the commerciallly available digital engine system for the aircraft, as well as the first approved use of the MVP-50T on a turboprop twin.

Tennessee-based Carpenter Avionics has received an STC from the FAA for the installation of the Big Sky MVP STC digital engine display upgrade for Cessna Conquest II/441 series turboprops. The company says it is the first commercially available digital engine system upgrade to be certified for the aircraft, as well as the first STC for a turboprop twin for the Electronics International MVP-50T system. More than 350 of the Cessna type were built during its decade-long production run, which ended in 1987, and nearly 200 remain in service. According to the company, the STC was designed with economy and ease of installation in mind.

“The Big Sky MVP STC is an important upgrade, as this enables the Cessna 441 operators to be smarter and safer about how they manage their valuable twin-turboprop engines, not just in real time, but also over time, thanks to trend monitoring,” explained Carpenter president Mark Lee.

Ron Roberts, CEO of Electronics International, added, “With a proven history of reliability in hundreds of single turbine-engine applications, the MVP-50T digital engine system not only eliminates reliability issues common with analog engine instruments, but it provides Conquest II pilots capabilities that are just not possible with the legacy analog instruments.”
