Several new features are coming to ABACE 2018, including a reconfigured show layout, expanded exhibitor chalets, aircraft making their ABACE debuts, and additional sessions. The Asian business aviation show, to be held April 17 to 19 at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, will have more than 160 exhibitors and approximately 30 aircraft on static display.
“We are pleased to announce this year’s ABACE will include a second, new hangar at the airport,” said NBAA senior vice president for conventions and membership Chris Strong. Because the hangar will be used for exhibitor booths, the auxiliary exhibitor tent will have a smaller footprint than in previous years. This leaves more room for new and expanded exhibitor chalets adjacent to the static display area, bringing the total for these facilities to 10, NBAA said. That static display will include a mix of business aircraft, with the Quest Kodiak making its ABACE debut.
Meanwhile, the Chinese CAAC will hold a business aviation development forum that will highlight the latest efforts in the government’s policy for business aviation. An Asia airport access panel will discuss trip planning for the region, changes at Hong Kong, and new general aviation airports in Asia. Also, a Future of Lift session will explore the potential for a helicopter renaissance in Asia due to capacity issues at Tier 1 airports for business aviation.
