Dart Gets Transport Canada Nod for Bell 505 Bearpaws
The Canadian manufacturer expects more approvals to follow shortly.
Following the approval of an STC for its skid-mounted bearpaw kit on the Bell 505, Ontario-based Dart Aerospace expects approvals from more aviation authorities. The 505 represents the 30th model to be approved for the installation.

Canadian aviation aftermarket manufacturer Dart Aerospace has received Transport Canada approval for its Bell 505 Bearpaw landing skid attachments. According to the Ontario-based company, the accessories, which enhance stability in landings on soft and uneven terrain, are the lightest such option currently available on the market. Dart claims they are as much as 35 percent lighter than competing products.

The addition of the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X makes the light-single helicopter the 30th model for which Dart has supplied a Bearpaw set, making it one of the leading suppliers of such equipment. Available with very short lead times, the Bearpaws can be purchased with wearplates and are compatible with Dart’s newly certified emergency floatation system for the 505. The privately held company expects to receive additional agency certifications for the STC soon.
