Embraer Executive Jets deliveries continue to soften in 2017, sliding 20 percent in the most recent quarter, to 20 aircraft. The third-quarter drop involved Embraer’s midsize Legacy models.
Embraer delivered seven Legacys in the third quarter, consisting of two 450s, a 500 and four of the higher-end 650s. A year ago, Embraer delivered a total of 12 Legacys, including six 450s, reflecting a ramp-up of the model that reached the market earlier in the year. Also in third-quarter 2016, Embraer handed over four Legacy 500s and two Legacy 650s.
While Legacy deliveries dropped in the most recent quarter, Embraer matched the number of Phenom deliveries. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer handed over 13 Phenoms in both third quarters. But the mix was slightly different, with more Phenom 100s shipped (four) in the most recent quarter versus just one in the year-ago period. Twelve of the 13 Phenom deliveries a year ago involved the larger 300, compared with nine in the most recent quarter.
Through the first nine months, Embraer Executive Jets deliveries were 15 units shy of where they were at the same point in 2016. In the first three quarters, Embraer has delivered 59 business jets (40 Phenoms and 19 Legacys), compared with 74 business jets (48 Phenoms and 26 Legacys) through the first nine months of 2016.
