Business aviation traffic in Europe jumped 8.8 percent year-over-year in August, marking the 10th consecutive month of continuous growth, according to the latest report from the European Business Aviation Association. The region has not experienced 6 percent growth in business aviation traffic through the first eight months of the year since 2007, EBAA added.
“Business aviation traffic figures turned in another stellar monthly performance last month, rising by nearly 9 percent, which is the strongest growth in August for 10 years,” said EBAA CEO Brandon Mitchener, citing data provided by Eurocontrol. “This also marks 10 successive months of traffic growth, demonstrating the resilience of business aviation in Europe.” The data tracks business aviation arrivals, departures, internal flights and overflights.
The Southwest airspace block, or FAB (Spain and Portugal), remains among the healthiest regions for traffic, up 11.5 percent so far this year, EBAA said, while traffic in Croatia has jumped 12.5 percent. The French internal market remained the biggest in Europe, averaging 143 daily flights in August, while the top cross-border market is between France and the UK. Zurich was the only airport in the top 10 to mark a traffic decrease, according to EBAA.
