Universal Avionics (Booth N2821, Static Display) has been awarded a supplemental type certificate (STC) for its new InSight display system for the Cessna Citation VII. Designed as an integrated flight deck solution, it features embedded next-generation synthetic vision with advanced mapping capability, electronic charts, frequency management and broadcast weather. Combined with the company’s SBAS-FMS and UniLink UL-800/801 communications management unit, the system offers operators a path to meet future mandates and certifications such as the FAA’s NextGen and EASA’s Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) efforts, as well as datalink.

The STC covers installation of the InSight system, engine interface unit, TAWS Class A and UNS-1Fw SBAS flight management system with ADS-B OUT. Because it requires fewer external line replaceable units, the system will help operators cut down weight and wiring, while retaining the ability to interface with a variety of components such as attitude/heading sensors, air data computers, radars, traffic systems, radios and autopilots.

“The completion of the InSight TSO and respective STC on the Citation VII is truly an exciting achievement for Universal," noted company director of sales Robert Clare. “We have other installs in the queue and look forward to the opportunities this product will bring, not only to Universal, but our dealers, integrators and OEMs.”
