Greenwich AeroGroup subsidiary TruAtlantic Manufacturing has received STC approval from Brazilâs civil aviation authority (ANAC) for a pair of modifications on Bombardier Learjets. The first for the authorized Learjet vendor is for the Learjet 35/36 thrust reverser kit, which allows the option of permanently deactivating the units, which represents the equivalent of a 138-pound savings in the aircraftâs empty weight.
The second is for the Stang fairing kit for the Learjet 60, which virtually eliminates the cracking problems in the OEM aluminum fairings. Made of prepreg carbon/epoxy, the replacement fairings are less than half the weight of the orginal parts, while the basic geometry of the assembly remains unchanged.
âWe are excited to be able to share these aircraft-enhancing products with Brazillian operators,â said company vice president and general manager Ralph Kunz. âThese supplemental type certificates can help ensure the longevity and performance of the aircraft.â
