Luxaviation UK Sees Strong Start for Summer Charter
Burgeoining traffic to Mediterranean resort destinations has fueled a 15 percent increase, year over year.

Luxaviation UK, one of the UK’s largest private charter operators, is experiencing a strong start to its business this summer, reporting a 15 percent increase in bookings year-over-year for June. “Our positive booking figures for June are a good indication that the industry is stable and that customers in the UK continue to value private aviation as a worthwhile investment,” said Luxaviation UK CEO Patrick Margetson-Rushmore. “We all know that figures are not as high as they were pre-recession, but we are confident that the summer months will continue to bring solid growth.”

Like many operators, the company is seeing a boost to Mediterranean hotspots, with Nice and Cannes, France; Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Mykonos, Greece. These are its top-five summer destinations.

It has also seen a 30 percent rise this year in activity related to summer music festivals throughout the UK and Europe. Margetson-Rushmore noted this segment accounts for approximately 20 percent of its business.
