The FAA’s Equip 2020 Team is continuing to step up its efforts to educate and encourage operators on the 2020 ADS-B OUT equipage mandate. Equip 2020, a joint government/industry team, is planning a live Twitter #ADSBchat from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET on July 19 to directly answer general aviation questions and concerns about the mandate.
According to the FAA, the chat can address a variety of questions and concerns, including: “Are you ready for ADS-B? Will you need it to operate in airspace near you? I need help sorting through the many options and features that are available on ADS-B equipment. I'm not sure how to apply for the FAA ADS-B rebate program.”
FAA experts, along with representatives from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Experimental Aircraft Association and Aircraft Electronics Association, are co-hosting the session. To participate, visit www.twitter.com/hashtag/ADSBChat during the designated to time.
Along with the July Twitter chat, the Equip 2020 team is staffing a booth during EAA’s AirVenture to answer questions and a number of panels have been scheduled during the July 24 to 30 event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to discuss equipage. These include one at the FAA Safety Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. CT on July 26.
