Advent Aircraft Systems’ eABS anti-skid braking system received FAA STC approval for the Beechcraft King Air B200 series, the aircraft modifications company announced today. This follows a similar certification for the King Air B300 series last year; eABS is also STC’d for the Pilatus PC-12 and Eclipse 500/550.

A customer King Air 250 was used as the certification aircraft for the latest approval. Londonderry, New Hampshire-based Pro Star Aviation performed the eABS installation over a two-week period last month and delivered the modified aircraft to the customer on July 1.

The company’s first European order, from Norway’s Sundt Air, also for a King Air 250, is scheduled for installation next month, pending the addition of the B200 to Advent’s previously announced EASA STC for the King Air B300 and Pilatus PC-12.

Its eABS reduces the risk of flat-spotting or blowing tires in all runway conditions and allows aggressive braking as an alternative to reverse thrust, reducing the risk of engine FOD ingestion and prop erosion.
