The range of ADS-B OUT supplemental type certificate (STC) approvals held by CMD Flight Solutions now covers almost all business jets, turboprops and regional airliners, for operators based in the U.S. and flying there from other countries.
The ADS-B OUT mandate, which becomes effective in the U.S. after midnight Dec. 19, 2019, and in Europe on June 7, 2020, also applies to operators flying into the U.S. and Europe, as well as other airspace where ADS-B mandates are already in place, such as in the Asia-Pacific region.
To serve operators based in other countries, CMD Flight Solutions has been granted validations of its approved model list STCs by Mexico’s DGAC and Brazil’s ANAC for ADS-B solutions for aircraft equipped with Rockwell Collins TDR-94/94D transponders and Honeywell Primus II avionics. These solutions are also EASA-approved, according to CMD.
As of last month, 26,414 U.S. general aviation fixed-wing aircraft have been equipped with ADS-B OUT. An estimated total of more than 150,000 aircraft will need the upgrade.
