Simon Pryce To Depart BBA Aviation at End of June
Pryce was credited with leading a transformation of BBA Aviation during his 10 years as CEO.

Simon Pryce, who has served as CEO of BBA Aviation for the past 10 years, is stepping down on June 30. Wayne Edmunds, a non-executive director of the group since 2013, will serve as interim CEO until a permanent successor is named. Pryce is departing following a period of expansion for BBA Aviation, including the merger of Landmark Aviation with BBA’s Signature Flight Support chain.

“With the successful integration of the $2.1 billion acquisition of Landmark Aviation now complete, and recent changes in his personal family circumstances adversely impacting his ability to undertake extensive overseas travel, the group has determined that it is appropriate to bring forward Simon Pryce’s intended retirement,” BBA said.

BBA Aviation chairman Nigel Rudd praised Pryce’s leadership over the past 10 years. “Simon Pryce has led the group during an important period and played a key role in managing BBA Aviation through the downturn and in the transformation that has taken place over recent years,” Rudd said. “Simon leaves the group in a strong position and it continues to perform well and in line with expectations.”

Pryce added he felt “privileged and proud to have been part of the team that has achieved such an extraordinary repositioning of BBA Aviation. We have transformed the group into a focused provider of value-added, IP-protected, business and general aviation and legacy support services with attractive growth prospects.”

Pryce will assist Edmunds and the board through a transition. Edmunds has a long executive background, including previously serving as CEO of Invensys, and has been chairman of BBA’s Audit and Risk Committee.

“I worked closely and successfully with Wayne Edmunds during our time together at Invensys PLC and his appointment as interim CEO allows the board to conduct a rigorous process to identify the right successor for the next stage of BBA Aviation’s development,” Rudd said.
