Captain Jet Aims to Bring Transparency to Charters
The Captain Jet platform went live in September through a partnership with Avinode.

Captain Jet has been steadily building up a client base as its strives to bring a platform to the charter market that provides complete transparency and provides readily available information for both operators and end users.

CEO Anne-Celine Lescop founded Captain Jet in Luxembourg two years ago after spending the previous 15 years as a charter broker. Lescop assembled a team with a varied background of expertise—from information technology to charter brokering to hospitality—to build the site that went live in September, through a partnership with Avinode.

The app, which can be used on iOS or Android mobile devices or on the web, is designed to increase the flow of information about the charter operator, aircraft and amenities, as well as about the end user, their plans and their preferences, Lescop said. She noted that her experience has highlighted how often charter operators may either never hear back from a charter request opportunity or receive the same request multiple times.

The site is designed to work more closely with the operator to eliminate those incidents and give the operator more complete information about the client and the client’s needs. At the same time, the site is designed to give the client more transparency about cost, aircraft, availability and amenities, she said.

Captain Jet (which is here at EBACE 2017 on the Avinode booth, F70) has built a database where it can solicit detailed information about both the operator and end user to have ready access when a request comes through.

Captain Jet only works with operators that it has vetted. The company has about 100 operators that have signed on for potential trips and about 200 clients that have entered their information into the database. The site also is designed to ease the contract and payment process, Lescop said.
