In all the talk about the upcoming FAA ADS-B OUT mandate, which begins after midnight on Dec. 31, 2019, there has been little discussion about the fact that aircraft flying to the U.S. from other countries will need the same level of equipage. This also means that ADS-B OUT upgrades will need certification in other countries, so aircraft registered there can continue flying to the U.S. in ADS-B airspace after the 2020 mandate.
To help meet this need, CMD Flight Solutions has received validation of its approved model list (AML) STC for ADS-B OUT from Mexico’s DGAC. The STC covers a large number of business aircraft, including most of those registered in Mexico. CMD’s STCs are also EASA certified.
To further help Mexican business aircraft operators, CMD is working on DGAC validation of its AML STCs for Part 23 Rockwell Collins TDR-94/94D-equipped aircraft and its AML STC covering older Part 25 business aircraft equipped with Honeywell Primus II communications units. The new validations are expected in mid-June, according to CMD.
