Aviation Fabricators (AvFab) recently received EASA certification for its King Air 200, B200 and B200GT pleated window shades. According to the Missouri-based company, the flame-retardant shades, available in four colors, offer a contemporary look. In addition, the shades provide temperature control. Closed when the aircraft is parked, they can help keep the interior of the aircraft cool; in frigid settings, they can also reduce heat loss by 20 percent. AvFab’s shadesare direct replacements for factory-installed polarizers.
Featuring an antibacterial coating, the shades decrease sun damage to aircraft interiors because they allow as little as 4 percent of outside light to get through. Overall, the shades are produced using a low-/no-emission process.
AvFab continues to offer inspection, overhaul and repair services for corporate aircraft interior parts. The company, which is FAA-PMA certified, also produces aircraft seating, components and parts.
