Aircraft parts sourcing and distribution company Constant Aviation Rotable Exchange (Care) is now offering an LED exterior lighting kit for the Beechjet 400A/XP and Nextant 400XT/XTi; the latter are remanufactured versions of the former. The kits offer an upgrade to the factory-standard incandescent exterior lights, providing better visual support for pilots, reducing energy consumption and requiring less maintenance.
“The root cause of halogen bulb filament and xenon tube failures is airframe vibration,” said v-p of Care and parts distribution Dana Seese. “This LED kit solution is solid-state, mounted device that can tolerate high levels of shock and vibration without failure. In addition, the LED lights provide more than 50,000 hours of continuous operation.”
According to Care, the kits are available for $15,943, not including the estimated 40 man-hours for installation, which can be done at Constant Aviation.
