Sierra Completions Gets FAA Part 145 Nod
The announcement caps a year-long process, under the FAA's new repair station certificiation protocols.

Sierra Nevada Corp. (SNC) subsidiary Sierra Completions has earned its FAA Part 145 repair station license, a year after the Colorado-based company began its application under the agency’s new repair station protocols for safety assurance systems (SAS) and data collection tools.

According to Phil Baker, SNC’s airworthiness manager, this latest certification was the company’s most challenging yet, involving FAA Flight Standards District Offices (FSDOs) from both the Seattle and Denver regions. He noted that after completion of the process, both offices stated Sierra Completions’ manuals will serve as the gold standard for the FAA’s SAS compliance and will be used as an example for others seeking certification.

“Tackling the new FAA process to obtain a certified repair station license represents a tremendous amount of coordination among the various parties,” stated Ed Topps, Sierra Completions’ vice president of programs. “This accomplishment demonstrates SNC and Sierra Completions’ dedication to working closely with the FAA.”
