A year-and-a-half after it opened an FBO at Belfast International Airport (EGAA), Global Trek Aviation has received permission from the airport authority to double the size of the terminal. “Our facility has been getting busier by the month, and we have taken the decision to plan for future growth at an early stage,” said company managing director David McColm, adding that the expansion project is slated for completion this summer. “Doubling the floor space will allow us to provide even greater comfort for our clients, put in additional amenities and expand our operations control center to keep up with customer demand.”
The 2,000-sq-ft facility is Wi-Fi equipped and features several computer work stations, as well as a spacious passenger lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ramp, a refreshment/bar area, pilot lounge and showers. It has its own secure entrance and parking lot, well removed from the commercial terminal. UK Border Force/Customs pre-clearance is available, and the facility has fuel trucks operated by NATA Safety 1st trained and Gulfstream-certified ground handling staff.
“Global Trek has shown the depth of its industry experience and commitment by hitting the ground running, delivering a first-class experience to its clients and investing in infrastructure, GSE and personnel training from the start,” noted Brian Carlin, Belfast International Airports director of commercial development.
