Vector Earns EASA Nod for ADS-B Solution
The system is intended for the the Airbus Helicopters AS332, Leonardo Helicopters AW139, and the Sikorsky S-76 series.

Canadian MRO provider Vector Aerospace has received EASA STC approval for its ADS-B solution for the Airbus Helicopters AS332, Leonardo Helicopters AW139, and the Sikorsky S-76 series helicopters. The retrofittable ADS-B solution, based on the L-3 Lynx Multilink Surveillance System, had already received STC authorization from the FAA, Brazil’s ANAC and Mexico's DGAC.

The ADS-B In/Out unit replaces the aircraft's existing transponder with a panel-mounted touchscreen transponder. Vector also offers a remotelymounted transceiver with a compact control head for cockpits with limited space.

The system provides ADS-B traffic and weather data, along with airport database, Notams and TFRs. Other capabilities include a MFD/PFD interface and optional Wi-Fi for the integration of personal electronic devices.

“Receipt of EASA certification approval for this ADS-B retrofit upgrade broadens our ability to offer this unique solution to customers across the globe,” said Elvis Moniz, Vector’s vice president of business development for airframe and avionics solutions. “This upgrade has generated significant customer interest in recent months, and we are actively supplying ADS-B kits and installation support to operators globally as the ADS-B regulatory compliance mandate date draws closer.”

According to Vector, aircraft downtime for the installation is a maximum of two days. The company has facilities in nine countries.
