Embraer Completes First E2VS Retrofit on Legacy 500
The retrofit comes two months after the combined enhanced vision system won U.S., European and Brazilian approvals for the Legacy 500 and 450.

Embraer Executive Jets recently completed the first retrofit of its recently certified Embraer Enhanced Vision System (E2VS) on a Legacy 500. The E2VS system had received U.S. FAA, European Aviation Safety Agency and Brazilian ANAC approvals in October for both the Legacy 450 and 500.

Offered as an option on the models, the E2VS system consists of a head-up display (HUD) that incorporates Rockwell Collins new head-up guidance system and multi-spectral enhanced vision system. The HUD has a compact design to fit within the cockpits of the midlight/midsize business jets, providing increased situational awareness in all phases of flight and enhanced safety during poor weather and low visibility.

Embraer developed a service bulletin for the retrofit of the system on existing aircraft. The installation was completed at Embraer’s Sorocaba Service Center in Brazil during a 12-month scheduled maintenance of a Brazilian customer’s aircraft.
