Piper M600 Turboprop Single Gets Aussie Nod
This paves the way for the launch of flights by M600 owner-operators in the region.

Piper Aircraft recently obtained approval from Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for its M600 turboprop single, the Vero Beach, Florida-based aircraft manufacturer announced today. This paves the way for the launch of flights by M600 owner-operators in the region.

“This is a significant milestone for the M600,” said Piper Aircraft CEO Simon Caldecott. “Australian owner-operators have shown great interest in the range and safety offered by the M600.”

The six-seat, $2.853 million M600 is equipped with the Garmin G3000 touchscreen-controlled flight deck and is powered by a 600-shp (flat rated) Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-42A. The turboprop single has a maximum speed of 274 knots and a maximum range of 1,484 nm at intermediate power settings. Among the aircraft’s safety features are emergency descent mode, electronic stability protection and under speed/overspeed protection.
