Ruag Secures Leonardo AW139 MRO Authorization
The Swiss-based maintenance provider adds the type to its list of helicopter OEM approvals.

Swiss MRO provider Ruag Aviation has been named an authorized service center for the Leonardo Helicopters (formerly AgustaWestland) AW139. The move establishes the company as a full support partner for all maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as warranty services for the aircraft.

“The new type rating for the Leonardo AW139 at both our Sion and Lugano locations enables us to support our customers with the full set of personal services they require, at a location convenient to their needs,” said Andreas Baumann, general manager for Ruag’s helicopter division, which also holds authorizations for Airbus Helicopters, Bell and Sikorsky. It can also provide maintenance services for MD Helicopters aircraft.

The company—which has locations in Switzerland and sites in Germany, Australia, Kuala Lumpur and the U.S.—also carries fixed-wing maintenance authorizations from Bombardier Business Aircraft, Cessna, Dassault Falcon, Embraer Executive Jets, Piaggio and Piper.
