Luxaviation Belgium (formerly Abelag) inaugurated its new 43,000-sq-ft (4,000-sq-m) aircraft maintenance and storage hangar last week at Kortrijk-Wevelgem International Airport near Flanders. âLuxaviation sees the significant demand for business aviation in the region, and has invested in the development of Luxaviation Belgium by providing this new facility,â said company CEO HervĂ© Laitat.
Construction of the $4.23 million (âŹ4 million) facility, located on the south side of the airport, took more than two years. It is the largest structure on the airfield and will be able to house up to 15 business aircraft, as well as provide a new home for Luxaviation Group subsidiary Execujetâs Belgian MRO facility.
âLarger aircraft can enter effortlessly, and we have a more efficient, optimized work space for the maintenance department,â added company sales director Dominiek Deman. âWe will continue to offer exceptional standards of customer service, but at a wider and more expansive level, due to the increase in the number of aircraft we can accommodate."
