West Star Aviation and Aviation Fabricators (AvFab) are nearing completion on their combined effort to obtain an STC for a belted lavatory modification for the Hawker 800/800XP series. The modification, which can easily be installed during a scheduled airframe inspection, consists of the existing lav unit, a new head bumper pad and modifications to the sidewall to accommodate new brackets and belts, as well as the required ordinance signage. Once the modification is approved, West Star’s interiors team will fabricate and install the necessary components.
“The belted lavatory modification was developed as a result of cooperative efforts between West Star Aviation and AvFab, and will be well received by Hawker operators everywhere,” predicted Kendall Kreiling, West Star’s Hawker program manager.
According to the Illinois-based MRO provider, final pricing has yet to be determined for the modification, which should be available by the end of this year.
