At this year’s LABACE show (August 30 to September 1), the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) will host the latest in its series of workshops to help operators comply with its International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). The two-day event will take place on August 30-31 in São Paulo’s Obelisco Tower. The first day features a session called Fundamentals of IS-BAO, where operators receive assistance with their IS-BAO implementation efforts and auditor renewal. The IS-BAO auditing session during day two provides operators with training to conduct evaluations and safety management system performance validation.
IS-BAO outlines standards for operators based on recommended practices from the International Civil Aviation Organization. The goal of IS-BAO workshops is to educate operators about new safety and auditing practices.
Tickets for the São Paulo IS-BAO workshop are priced at $750 for the first day and $950 for the second day. Meanwhile, IBAC recently welcomed Bennet Walsh as the director of IS-BAO. With experience as a pilot and chief safety officer, Walsh will manage the IS-BAO program and further workshops. The next IS-BAO workshop will take place in White Plains, N.Y., on September 13and 14. For more information, visit the official IBAC website.
IBAC also has a quality assurance program for FBOs and handling agents called International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH). It has a program of workshops to help companies reach this standard.
