Bombardier Delivers Germany-based Challenger 650
Launched at NBAA 2014, the 3,200-nm/5,926-km Challenger 605 features the Bombardier Vision flight deck.

Bombardier Business Aircraft delivered its first Challenger 650 to be operated from Germany, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer announced yesterday. The Challenger 650 is a refreshed version of the iconic large-cabin twinjet with new avionics and more powerful engines.

“This first German customer delivery of a Bombardier Challenger 650 confirms the aircraft’s leadership in Western Europe,” said Christophe Degoumois, Bombardier Business Aircraft’s vice president of sales for Europe, Russia and CIS. He said the Challenger series holds a 40-percent category market share in Europe.

Launched at NBAA 2014, the 3,200-nm/5,926-km Challenger 605 features the Bombardier Vision flight deck, which is based on the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics, along with a head-up display and synthetic- and enhanced-vision systems. It is powered by two GE Aviation 9,220-pound-thrust CF34-3BMTOs, which achieve 5 percent more takeoff thrust than the engines on the predecessor Challenger 605. Other improvements include wider seats with more storage space, a galley with a conventional oven and an audio/video-on-demand system.
