Quest Aircraft recently completed Phase I of its facility expansion at its Sandpoint, Idaho production facility, the company announced today. The new building addition expands floor space by 27,000 sq ft, bringing the current building to 110,000 sq ft.
A second phase will boost this by nearly 50,000 sq ft, bringing total floor space for production to 159,000 sq ft. The company delivered 32 Kodiak 100s last year and plans to ship 39 this year. When the plant expansion is finished, this will increase to 52 next year and then go up to about 60 in 2018.
Quest president and CEO Sam Hill commented that the company's production capacity needs to expand to meet worldwide demand for the Kodiak. “Over the last few years, we have been steadily ramping up production of the Kodiak, and this expansion will ensure that we efficiently meet market demand.”
The new addition was dedicated to the memory of Dave Clark, a Quest employee and key member of the expansion team.
