OneJet, which offers per-seat service using Hawker 400XPs under Part 135 with DOT Part 298 economic authority, is expanding service at Pittsburgh International Airport, which was named as one of its bases of operation in February. The company now plans to add 10 more nonstop destinations from Pittsburgh, deployed in a metered sequence over the next two years.
Since early last month, OneJet has been offering nonstop service between Pittsburgh and Hartford, Conn. It announced late last week that it is adding service to/from Louisville, Ky., starting on July 18 and Cincinnati, Ohio, beginning on August 15. OneJet said it will add two more routes this fall.
The expansion is being aided by $1 million in loans from the state of Pennsylvania and the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County, as well as $1.5 million in private investment from local corporate leadership that includes former PNC Bank chairman James Rohr and Pittsburgh Steelers football team co-owner Thomas Tull.
Business aviation charter operator Pentastar Aviation Charter had been conducting all of the flights for OneJet, but now the per-seat airline said it is using “regionally based operating partners featuring Argus Platinum safety rated and TSA-certified operations.” All of the Hawker 400XPs that OneJet uses are also being outfitted with upgraded interiors and high-speed Wi-Fi, a spokeswoman told AIN.
