Elliott Aviation has received FAA STC approval for ADS-B OUT and IN for 2002 and newer Hawkers equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics. The models covered include the Hawker 750, 800XP, 850XP and 900XP.
The STC replaces the existing Rockwell Collins TDR-94D transponder with dual remote-mount Garmin GTX-3000 transponders and adds the Garmin GDL 88 dual-link ADS-B transceiver, GA 36 antenna and Flight Stream 110 Bluetooth wireless gateway. The latter device provides GPS position to the GTX-3000 and ADS-B IN weather and traffic to compatible mobile devices. This solution eliminates the need to upgrade cockpit displays to accommodate ADS-B IN features, Elliott said.
“We have Hawker customers all over the country that are looking for a cost-effective solution to meet ADS-B mandates,” said Conrad Theisen, director of avionics sales for Elliott Aviation. “The Garmin solution was the best option because it offered ADS-B IN benefits and required no other upgrades to current avionics.”
Elliott Aviation is also developing Garmin-based ADS-B STCs this year for the Beechjet 400A/400XP, Premier 1/1A, legacy-equipped Hawker 800A/800XP and Hawker 1000.
