Bombardier Business Aircraft Updates Smart Parts
The enhancements come as the company celebrates the 30th anniversary of the program.

Bombardier Business Aircraft is enhancing its Smart Parts program as the company marks the 30th anniversary of the cost-per-flight-hour protection plan.

The program enhancements, affecting Smart Parts Preferred plans, provide more flexibility at resale, increased cost protection through expanded coverage and long-term price guarantees, Bombardier said. Smart Parts Preferred, the most comprehensive of the Smart Parts programs, includes component exchange coverage for most major airframe systems, along with tires and brakes, life-limited parts and kits for most alert and service bulletins. The Preferred program is offered to “entry-into-service” buyers of the Learjet 70/75, Challenger 350, Challenger 650 and new Global business jets.

Smart Parts launched in 1986 for the Challenger 601, becoming one of the earliest airframe cost-per-flight-hour programs for business aircraft. Smart Parts programs now cover more than 1,400 aircraft with six million flight hours recorded.
